I was just wondering how any of you felt about how some ebay sellers deal with feedback. let me know if im making to much of this. you win an auction and you pay within 12 hours using pay pal, as a seller that is what you want couldnt get any better than that. at that point as a seller I think you should post your feedback for the buyer no reason not to.perfect transaction. now me as the buyer after 10 days contact the seller and ask him why no feedback yet and he responds that he does not leave feedback until the buyer posts to be sure there is no problem. is he just protecting himself in case you post bad feedback so he can then cover his ass and make up some garbage about how you were not a good customer. I think it is wrong on his part to not post right away he has no reason to wait. I have sold things on ebay and as soon as the payment was recieved i posted feedback not worring what the buyer might sayand this is thr first time i have had this happen. I want to post positive feedback for this purchase but I wont do it until the seller leaves his. I guess we both lose in the feedback department. any commentslet me know thanks guys James

With the new Ebay policy Sellers can no longer leave Negative feedback. They can still leave a non payer alert if the person don't pay but not Negative. I think that is wrong all the way around. I sell on ebay and had buyers try to get money back from me saying that they never recieved the item or it was not as described. I send everything with delivery confirmation because its a cheap form of insurance to prove the item got delivered. I always wait before giving feedback to see if I have to correct a problem which I have not had lately. I noticed alot of sellers do not leave until they recieve. Its just a matter of choice I guess. I have not sold much since these new rules took place so it don't really matter to me. I don't like the idea that only a buyer can leave neg feedback. If the seller don't get paid he should be able to leave neg but not anymore.

The only thing that makes Me mad is when I don't get Feedback I've got burnt on a few now. I'll send them a message about them not leaving feedback and I get no response. I always Pay as soon as the Auction ends unless it goes off after I'm already signed off. But the new rules do suck.. Even though I don't sell anything.

My days on E-Bay are over as well. I will not sign up for a Paypal account as I've been burned by them in the past. With the new steup, if you don't have an electronic account to transfer money, it is virtually impossible to deal on there. I cancelled my E-Bay account last week simply because of the new rules and increased hassles it is to deal there. The feedback issue is a completely different deal too. Sure, you can't leave feedback under a "Negative" heading, but a trick to get around that is to go ahead post a Neutral or even Positive rating, but then post what went wrong with the transaction, ie no item, not as described, whatever. Of course the other party will most likely get your cmoonet removed, but it gives other bidders at least a brief chance to see what they're getting themselves into by dealing with these people.

I have over 1000 positive feed backs...no neg. or neutral. I always gave feed back as soon as I shipped (always with in 1 business day). I probbly would have a 1000 more if everybody did the "right" thing and left feed back...A little upsetting. I left a few Neutals only becaue I felt a neutral was less likly to be erased. With the new rules I've stopped selling and buying. Paul

i think feed back should be left by the seller as soon as they recieve payment.the buyer should do the same as soon as they recieve their item.i have a low score because i left fb first and the seller would not return fb.

In 2 years of dealing on ebay, I only left one negative, and I hated doing it. I realize people have lives, but when you have to keep poking at them to get a response over the course of 2 months, well, that can make people a little cranky. Especially when they don't keep their word.
I leave feedback when the package arrives, or when I at least know the package is on its way(tracking #). I've left positives for when the package didn't arrive, but the seller at least was as helpful as possible in trying to locate the package, etc. As 4 when I've sold, as soon as I recieved payment, they got their feedback.
I agree the new rules aren't fair to honest sellers who've been cheated. As 4 my thoughts on paypal, cool idea, nightmare to deal with at times. So I just let the acct close. I generally don't do much on ebay anymore, I just window shop there now, unless I see that really rare kit or something, and I'm tighter on my bidding standards now, too. I tend to insist on Delivery confirmation now. I would say that everyone should. It's not like it costs that much more, and its proof your item was shipped.

As soon as I receive the item in good condition, I leave a pretty generic feedback, always on the positive side. In over 900 transactions, I have only had trouble with two, and they were complete not a very nice persons who had no business being on E-bay in the first place. I take pride in my 100% rating, just my .02.

Ebay, sure is not like it was 8-10 years ago. The "fun" of it has completely disappeared. I don't sell anymore, only go there if in dire need of something..but set a limit on bidding...far and few Then you have the BUY-IT-NOW, what a great concept? ? Not really Kurt

I don not care for the % Paypal takes out but on the other hand, I do not want it any other way. Paypal is the only way you are protected if you have a problem with the Seller, item, or....Out of well over 600 transactions only 1 has gone south on me. That's pretty good. As for the sellers with the high shipping costs, it's easy, don't bid. As for feedback, I'll leave a glowing positive for every good transaction. I think we have had less than a handful that did not leave feedback. Give a smile get a smile!!! If I don't get feedback, who cares. I have alot of other things to worry about than that. I do not like it either that the seller cannot leave a negative, but...... If enough of us complained or signed a petition? For now, I'm still a happy ebayer Just my opinion and I am not saying I am right nor will I bash someone who's opinion differs. The only things I really want I cannot get on ebay. Two for example are more time to build and alot better building talent! Woe is me.......... Bruce
